If you’re looking to get a free home foreclosure list there’s a few ways to go about it.
The one thing you need to keep in mind is that every state is different when it comes to getting a list of homes in default.
It may be as simple as calling up your county clerk or as difficult as tracking down the right department at your state capitol.
The first place you will want to start is by doing a search for your county clerks website. Most counties are the one’s that control foreclosure auctions and it’s a good place to start looking for a free home foreclosure list.
If you are not able to find anything on their website the next step is to call the county clerk and ask them if they offer a list of recently defaulted homes.
Most counties across the US do offer a list and many may charge you a small copy fee to get it. It really comes down to how much work are you going to put into obtaining this list.
Depending on how much bureaucracy you have to deal with sometimes it’s just easier to buy a list then it is to spend your day trying to track down the right person. Once you find that person then chances are there are some hoops you have to jump through to get the list.
I know for me it was easier just to buy the list from a reputable company. It only took one trip down to the county clerk’s office before I said screw it, it’s more worth my time to just buy a list.
It’s up to you which way you do it. There are 2 reputable companies out there that offer lists. Most of the companies out there are a bit shady and will give you outdated information and that’s if it’s reliable.
The two companies I have used are:
As far as I know both will give you a free home foreclosure list. Last I checked they both have a 7 day free trial period to test them out.
Of the two I really love Foreclosures.com. I’ve met a couple of the people that work there in the past when I purchased one of their courses some years back.
They actually got started locally where I was living and then just blew up to a national scale. There courses are solid and very informative.
